Woo Hoo! I successfully created 54K words of what is arguably first draft crap in 30 days! But, damnit all it’s good crap. This year, my plotting and planning worked well and I am able to use ALL of what I wrote.  That is a freakin’ miracle.

YAY ME!

Now the next task, that is to finish the book.  Nano allows you to count any new words written in November on your project toward your final goal. So I am really about 45K there.  About 9K of the 54K Nano words are character studies and synopses for scene setups and other things that I threw away due to extreme awfulness.  All good stuff but not novel first draft.   So onward and forward to what I am calling LeNoCeMo (Leslie’s Novel Completing Month) AKA December. My task is to have my first draft of San Francisco: ick working title done by Dec 31. And for LeNoCeMo rules the 100K has to be all good first draft words.  No counting the nasty bits or the background stuff, OK?  Alright!

Right now I am in the middle of Act two and things are moving along nicely.  Our heroine is hopelessly lost in time, has fallen in love with a man who insists on marrying her (and marooning her back in time away from her daughter), has roused the local rabble against her by saving a young immigrant and is still living in a whorehouse while trying very hard not to become one of the items on the menu.  Fun fun!
