LOL.. Gotcha! Actually, I hope it makes everyone run a test of their backup system. There was a fellow writer who a couple of months ago had a request from an agent and who had a disk failure then could not find the thumbdrive the manuscript was backed up on. Total loss. I am in love with my multiple computer/sync/backups. Clearly my system works!

OMG, you are the queen of suspense!

As I read through this post I was almost in tears for your loss.

But then that final denouement...

I can't wait to read "A Fault in Time".

LOL - I'm lusting after an iPad even though I have other gadgets. They've only just released in New Zealand (three days ago) and I've already visited a store to have a little play.

...or it could be GREAT just the way it is....no rewrites, no problems, no need to rip off the shiny top....you have worked your tail-end off on this...see what the crits say...if they say great - congrats, and be humble - if they say rework - then get to the ripping and shredding..but I would bet it is pretty darn slick in its present form!

Wow, your phone company in Merkel sounds like customer support heaven. Not so out here. We finally did get it all sorted, but it was hugely painful and we're not getting the 18MB that we were promised from Uverse. The highest I've seen it is 16. And that's downhill with a tailwind. lol. All carping aside, it is better than 3....

What a nightmare.....I have had similar episodes with DISH, and with Sprint..but our local little telephone company, Taylor Telephone (in Merkel,Texas)still has real (and nice) ladies answering the phone, and the local "keep 'em running" repair guy, Chris, is very competent, nice, and actually gets a hold of you before and after the service call to confirm what the ladies told him is what you really want! Then afterwards, he calls to make sure it is to your satisfaction..nothing like small town America! The way it should be!
